Frequently Asked Qestions
- We do not take cheap short-cuts. FOOTCRAFTER orthotics are truly custom made. We do not try to match your individual contours with close fitting "library" template insoles. We do not use generic templates with βone-size-fits-mostβ designs.
- The contour is custom to your unique sole and our specs are custom to your insole needs.
- We focus on restoring and maintaining your natural arch support under weight-bearing conditions, ensuring long-lasting comfort in all of your shoes.
- FOOTCRAFTER delivers a direct-to-you solution β combining professional-grade quality with convenience, so you get the same level of support youβd expect from a clinic, but at home.
FOOTCRAFTER insoles are designed to restore and support your natural arch, even under full weight. By doing so, they help reduce strain on your feet, ankles, knees, and lower back. Many people notice improved comfort across all their shoes, less fatigue after long days on their feet, and better alignment for everyday activities or sports. Because theyβre custom-made for your unique foot shape, you get a level of fit and support that off-the-shelf insoles simply canβt provide.
Custom-made orthotics are insoles specifically crafted to match the unique shape of your feet. Unlike off-the-shelf insoles, which are one-size-fits-most, custom orthotics use precise foot impressions to provide the right support exactly where your feet need it. This personalized design helps improve comfort, maintain proper arch alignment, reduce strain on your feet and legs, and support your posture and overall mobility.
At FOOTCRAFTER, we use digital 3D scanning to capture the exact intricate shaped and contours of your feet. This advanced technology allows us to record every curve with precision. The result is a pair of custom insoles that provide accurate arch support, optimal comfort, and a perfect fit, tailored uniquely to your feet.
Yes! Once youβve had your feet 3D scanned, your scan is securely stored by our partner ARRCH. This means you can reorder replacement or additional insoles without needing a new scan, saving you time while ensuring the same custom fit and support as your original pair. Head to Reorder for more info.
With regular daily use, FOOTCRAFTER insoles typically last 3β4 years, depending on your activities, the level, type of footwear and walking technique patterns. Because theyβre made from durable, clinic-grade materials, they hold their shape and support much longer than standard store-bought insoles. Many customers find they continue to feel comfortable and supportive well beyond the first three years.
The orthotic model should the suit the shoe that you will place the orthotic in. A custom insole can be a big part of reducing stress and pain in the plantar fascia. Custom support of the heel and arch contours can be the difference compared to over-the-counter insoles that only offer general support.
We advise you to take the stock insole out of your shoe and replace it with the custom made FOOTCRAFTER insole.
FOOTCRAFTER can provide targeted support and stress-relief by addressing your unique foot contours.

Your feet may have an arch that you are not aware of. The FOOTCRAFTER 3D scan can pick it up and our design team uses advanced design software to conserve your arch, even if it hidden by fat pads (we all have and need fat pads!).
FOOTCRAFTER custom-made insoles are designed according to your non-weight bearing arch, knowing that your arch will stretch out to appear flat if it does not get "orthotic" support.
In most cases, no trimming is needed. FOOTCRAFTER insoles are custom-made using your shoe size and exact foot impressions, designed to fit properly inside standard footwear. If the insole is too long in the shoe, then trim it carefully with scissors. Likewise, check to see if the front-end of the orthotic curls up at the tip; if so, you can simply trim the front edge for a perfect fit.
Some shoes have a narrower toe box and, in such cases the insoles may need to be trimmed slightly to fit. Please note that once trimmed, the insoles might not fit perfectly in shoes with a regular or wider toe box. Your toes may end up resting on the edge of the insole, which might or might not cause discomfort. We suggest getting multiple sets to cover different shoe designs, but that is up to you.
Itβs best to break-in to your FOOTCRAFTER insoles gradually over 10 days. Start by wearing them for 1β2 hours a day, then slowly increase the duration over a week or two. This allows your feet, muscles, and joints to adjust to the new support comfortably, reducing the risk of soreness or discomfort.
With regular daily use, FOOTCRAFTER insoles typically last 3 years+, depending on your activity level, footwear, and walking patterns. Because theyβre made from durable, clinic-grade materials, they hold their shape and support much longer than standard store-bought insoles. Many customers find they continue to feel comfortable and supportive well beyond the second and even third year.
If your FOOTCRAFTER insole doesnβt fit perfectly, you can trim it for a better fit. Start by cutting it slightly larger than your original insole, then trim a little at a time until it fits comfortably. For the best result, cut at a 45Β° angle so the top edge is slightly longer than the bottom β this helps the insole sit more naturally inside your shoe. Check out the video demo here.
